Earn Value Mangement – Can be adapted to small/simple contracts easily

Wikipedia – The attached article is a good summary of the value of using Earned Value Management (EVM) as a project management tool for even small/simple contracts.  The article does a good job on outlining how EVM can easily be deployed for small/simple contracts.  I would recommend all contractor consider training their personnel in EVM.  It can significantly improve your ability to not only mange you projects but also ensure successful completion.  Successful completions helps ensure that you meet your target profit margins.
